Custom Bar Shelf Rebuild: Better Materials, Better Build

This project started with a familiar problem: a great-looking home bar with shelves that just didn’t hold up.
The client had their original shelves installed by a contractor about five years ago. On the surface, they looked fine but over time, the flaws started to show. The wood began to split. The corners weren’t joined properly, just butted together and slightly off-square. Most noticeably, the shelves tilted forward, making it risky to store bottles or glassware.
They were ready for an upgrade - not just in looks, but in quality.
What We Fixed:

Level, reinforced construction: The new floating shelves are internally braced and perfectly level.
Mitered corner joints: We built tight, clean 90° joints for a wraparound design that looks intentional and solid.
Premium materials: High-quality hardwood, properly finished and sealed to prevent splitting or warping.
Custom detailing: Each shelf face includes a woven-style inlay, adding depth and texture that complements the existing bar.
The result is a major step up - not just visually, but structurally. These shelves were built to match the bar in both style and substance, and they’ll stay secure and straight for years to come.
